Data controller

The Fédération Internationale des Experts Maritimes (FIEM), a French non-profit association whose registered office is at 107 avenue Michel Crépeau, 17000 La Rochelle, is the controller for the processing described below. Contact: contact@fiem.fr.

Data collected and purposes

Contact form

Name, email address, telephone number and the content of your message — solely in order to answer your enquiry. Legal basis: the federation's legitimate interest in handling the enquiries addressed to it.

Surveyors' profiles

Professional data published at the request of approved members: identity, professional contact details, specialities, area covered. Legal basis: performance of the statutory relationship between the federation and its members.

Browsing session

A session cookie strictly necessary for the members' area to work. It is not used for any audience measurement or profiling and requires no prior consent.

Retention periods

Messages received through the contact form are kept for as long as needed to deal with the enquiry, then archived for no more than three years from the last exchange. Surveyors' profiles are kept for the duration of their membership and removed from the site when it ends. The session cookie expires when the browser is closed, or after eight hours of inactivity.

Recipients and processors

Data is neither sold, nor transferred, nor used for marketing purposes. It is accessible to the federation's secretariat and, where applicable, to the surveyor concerned by an enquiry. Hosting and email delivery are provided by Amazon Web Services, within the European Union (Europe/Paris region).

Exercising your rights

Under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection in respect of data concerning you, as well as the right to data portability.
